Ken
Surley holds degrees in Organ Performance and Choral Music Education
from Baylor University where he studied with Dr. Joyce Jones.
He taught in the public school systems of Texas for ten years.
He has served as Choir Director and/or Organist in Methodist, Lutheran,
Catholic, and Baptist churches. He has performed for over 600
weddings. A published music arranger, he has performed, recorded,
and toured with the Turtle Creek Chorale, Dallas Symphony Chorus,
Fort Worth Men's Chorus, and the various choirs of Plymouth Park United
Methodist Church. These performances have taken him from the
West Coast of the U.S. to Carnegie Hall, Switzerland, Austria, the
Czech Republic, and Israel. He has been conductor, musical director,
accompanist, and actor with several community theatres in the area
and has performed live on television and radio. He has played
the piano at restaurants, cabarets, banquets, receptions, and private
parties as well as accompanying singers and choirs. As an organist,
he has performed recitals on concert series and given organ dedication
recitals.
